Dr. Hari Nath Singh, born on July 20, 1959, in Kammerpur village, Shahganj tehsil, Jaunpur district, Uttar Pradesh, is a distinguished academic and agricultural economist. He began his education in his village, progressing through Shri Gandhi Smarak Inter College, Samodhpur, where he completed his Junior High School, High School, and Intermediate studies. Dr. Singh earned his B.Sc. (Ag.) in 1981 and M.Sc. (Ag.) in 1986 from C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, and later pursued a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from NDUAT, Faizabad, in 1993. He was awarded the prestigious ICAR Merit Scholarship during his undergraduate studies and a Ford Foundation Scholarship during his Ph.D. Dr. Singh’s illustrious career began at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Manila, Philippines, where he worked as a Project Scientist in the Social Sciences Division in 1993. He later joined GBPUAT, Pantnagar, as an Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics in 2003, and five years later, he returned to IRRI as a Post-Doctorate Fellow. He became a Professor of Agricultural Economics in 2009 and led several international research initiatives, including the Participatory Varietal Selection Program for Stress Tolerant Rice across Africa and South Asia. In 2015, he took over as the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics at GBPUAT, a position he held until 2024.Dr. Singh’s contributions to agricultural research and education are globally recognized. He has visited numerous countries across South Asia and Africa for professional and academic purposes, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Mozambique. He has been honored with numerous awards, including the Fellowship of the International Society for Noni Science in 2022, the Utkrisht Vaigyanik Samman from ICAR in 2019, and a Certificate of Recognition from IRRI in 2012.   A prolific researcher, Dr. Singh has published 131 research papers, 18 conference proceedings, and 37 presentations at national and international forums. He has contributed 18 book chapters, authored two laboratory and field manuals, and guided 29 M.Sc. (Ag.) and six Ph.D. students. He has also led 17 research projects, 11 of which were funded by international organizations, including the CGIAR system, DSW Israel, and IFAD. His leadership and expertise continue to make a lasting impact on agricultural economics and development globally.

Mr. Ishwar Babu Bairwa, a distinguished Ford Fellow, holds an M.A. in Development Studies (Rural Livelihoods and Global Changes) from the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, an M.Sc. in Agriculture from MPUAT, Udaipur, Rajasthan, and a Certificate in Strategic Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Humanities and Social Sciences at Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, he brings over 18 years of extensive experience in managing large-scale, sustainable rural development programs. His expertise spans multiple thematic areas, including climate resilience, livelihood enhancement, agriculture and livestock, skill development, and poverty alleviation. Mr. Bairwa has a robust track record in providing technical assistance to government departments, policy advocacy, grant management, capacity building, and research assistance for national programs such as DPIP, NVI, SCALE Project, and MGNREGA. He has worked closely with government bodies, NGOs, CSOs, and CBOs, directly engaging with farmers and community workers at the grassroots level. Notably, he has initiated research on the impact of climate change on agriculture and livestock and played a key role in establishing a state-level Farmer Producer Organization in Rajasthan for policy advocacy. His career encompasses a diverse range of experiences from grassroots organizations to international bodies and government departments.

She has worked extensively with semi-government and non-government organizations to advance policy reforms in education, health, gender equity, and social inequality. At Breakthrough Trust, Noopur led government partnerships, focusing on integrating gender equity into educational policies. Her experience with Oxfam India and the National Coalition for Education further strengthened her ability to spearhead national campaigns and influence policy decisions at both state and national levels.
